OCIA Gathering

The Diocese of Raleigh will host an online gathering for the OCIA on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. The meeting will move from Zoom to the Microsoft Teams platform, though participants do not need to download new software to join.

The session will address the potential move to a year-round formation model. While the OCIA typically involves a year of formation, the diocese notes that prospective inquirers often arrive at various times of the year, making a school-year model difficult to manage. Additionally, individuals with marriage cases may require support outside of established parish sacramental calendars.

Participants will discuss the challenges of implementing a year-round model, specifically regarding the personnel and resources needed to maintain ongoing sessions.
