October: A month dedicated to the Rosary, sanctity of life, Missions and much more

Bishop David M. O'Connell highlighted several Catholic commemorations and celebrations observed during the month of October.

The Bishop noted that the entire month is dedicated to the Holy Rosary, with the Feast of the Holy Rosary occurring on October 7. He described the Rosary as a meditative prayer that uses the mysteries to contemplate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus through the eyes of Mary.

O'Connell included a writing from the recently beatified Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen, who described the Rosary as a powerful tool for the blind, the simple, and the aged to encounter divine mysteries.
