Omella señalado por inacción en un caso de abusos en el que se querelló contra una víctima

Archbishop Omella has been accused of inaction in an abuse case involving a priest in Barcelona. According to InfoVaticana, the Archbishop received the first warning regarding the parish priest of Guinardó in 2022 but treated the matter as a moral issue and referred the situation to a psychologist.

The priest, Jorge Alexander P., was arrested in November 2024. While Omella admitted in September 2024 that an unresolved question remained regarding the case, the report indicates the Archbishop has faced criticism for his handling of the allegations.
