Orange County Catholic educators gather for annual convocation

Teachers and principals from 37 diocesan schools gathered at Santa Margarita Catholic High School on Sept. 11 for the annual Educator Convocation. The event served to begin the school year and reinforce the mission of Catholic education within the Diocese of Orange.

The convocation featured a keynote address by Sr. John Dominic Rasmussen, O.P., and a Mass celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Thanh Thai Nguyen. This year's theme was “There’s More: Living the Magis.”

Superintendent Dr. Erin Barisano said the gathering provides a unique opportunity for Catholic educators, leaders, support staff, and coaches to celebrate their shared mission. The event also included a remembrance of the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.
