Bishop Gabriel Narciso Escobar Ayala speaks to the people of Asunción

Bishop Gabriel Narciso Escobar Ayala addressed the clergy and laity of the Archdiocese of Asunción following his appointment as auxiliary bishop. Speaking at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Most Holy Asunción, Escobar Ayala expressed gratitude to Pope Leo XIV for the mission.

Escobar Ayala, who previously served in the Paraguayan Chaco, stated he intends to serve as a servant of souls and a defender of dignity rather than an office administrator. He noted that his ministry in the city and its surrounding areas will focus on both spiritual commitment and social commitment. He said that prayer and human development must work together to address the needs of vulnerable communities and the hunger of neighbors.
