Palácio Episcopal de Guaxupé celebra 100 anos de história

The Episcopal Palace of Guaxupé marks 100 years since its inauguration in September 2026. The building serves as the bishop's residence and acts as a historical landmark for both the Diocese of Guaxupé and the city.

Construction of the palace began following an initiative by Bishop Ranulpho da Silva Farias in 1923. The bishop blessed the first stone on March 2, 1924. A public bidding process to hire workers for masonry, plastering, tiling, and roofing was published in the Gazeta Commercial newspaper on April 12, 1924.

Ramon Castro Garcia was responsible for the building plans and later supervised the construction. By the end of 1924, the walls had reached their maximum height with windows and portals installed. The building was officially inaugurated on September 12, 1926.
