Palavra de Deus inspira Novena e Festa da Padroeira 2026

The National Sanctuary in Aparecida, Brazil, will host the 2026 Novena and Feast of the Patroness from October 3 to 12. This year's celebrations center on the theme "With Mary, in community, knowing and practicing the Word" to mark the conclusion of an eight year biblical journey that featured mosaics on the sanctuary's facades.

The festivities include celebrations, processions, and specific activities. According to priest Jorge Américo, a spokesperson for the event, the program aims to reaffirm that the Word of God should be at the center of every Christian's life and decisions.

Special elements for the festival include a new throne for the image of Our Lady of Aparecida, which features four white and gold scrolls. The mantles used during the celebrations and the novena hymn also incorporate references to the sanctuary's recent biblical journey.
