Padre Juan Elías Ciripi presides Te Deum Mass in Cobija

Father Juan Elías Ciripi presided over a Te Deum Mass at Nuestra Señora del Pilar Parish in Cobija to mark the 88th anniversary of the Pando department. The liturgy included local and international officials, such as members of the armed forces, the vice minister of equal opportunities, and diplomats from India and Iran.

During his homily, Father Ciripi spoke about the history of the region, noting that Cobija was founded in 1906 and the Pando department was formally created in 1938. He mentioned the role of the Church in accompanying the community since its beginnings and referenced the historical figure Don Nicolás Suárez.

Father Ciripi addressed the logistical challenges of the Amazon region, specifically the difficulties regarding geography and connectivity. He called for integral development in Pando that prioritizes human well-being alongside infrastructure.
