The Pope encouraged people to value their national identities while recognizing they belong to a larger divine project and the human family created by God. This message followed his teaching on the second chapter of the pastoral constitution Gaudium et Spes, which discusses the human community. Leo XIV explained that this vision of humanity helps people evaluate social and political projects based on human dignity, social justice, and the common good.
