Papua New Guinea bishop declares Year of Reverence (AdVaticanum)

Bishop Donald Lippert, O.F.M. Cap., has declared a Year of Reverence in Papua New Guinea. The American missionary bishop announced the decision during an interview with Catholic World News.

Lippert described his personal move toward the Traditional Latin Mass over the last year, noting that while he primarily serves the Church through the Novus Ordo, he has found beauty and power in the traditional liturgy. He also addressed the concept of synodality, stating that he favors local consultation to avoid the instability he observed in the Anglican Church and the developments in Germany.
