Parish of Artesa de Segre makes pilgrimage to Schoenstatt Shrine

Pilgrims from the Assumption Parish of Artesa de Segre visited the Schoenstatt Sanctuary in Valldoreix on Saturday, September 19. Led by their rector, Cristian Casamitjana, the group traveled to the sanctuary in Barcelona while the site celebrates its Jubilee Year.

The visitors were met by the sanctuary's custodian sisters and a group of young people who previously conducted missions in Artesa de Segre during Holy Week. During the visit, Sister Maria del Mar Parès explained the history and unique characteristics of the sanctuary. The group also visited the oratory of Father Joseph Kentenich, the founder of the Schoenstatt Apostolic Movement.

Father Casamitjana presided over the Mass, which included a reading of the parable of the sower. The pilgrimage concluded with a communal meal shared with the Sisters of Mary. The parish expects the same group of young missionaries to return to Artesa de Segre for the upcoming Holy Week celebrations.
