Parish of San José Artesano receives Iglesia Sostenible award

The San José Artesano parish in San Fernando received the Sustainable Church Award from the Spanish Episcopal Conference. The award recognizes a project led by the parish economic council to calculate and reduce the community's carbon footprint to reach zero.

The project covered the period from 2021 to 2025. Beginning on October 10, 2022, the council calculated direct and indirect emissions for 2021. These results were submitted to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and were registered in the Registry of carbon footprint, compensation and carbon dioxide absorption projects. The parish has continued this calculation and registration process in following years to manage its resources and facilities.
