Parish of St. Bruno in Giżycko celebrates 100th anniversary

The St. Bruno of Querfurt Parish in Giżycko celebrated its 100th anniversary with a series of commemorative events. The jubilee, which marks a century of faith and prayer for the community, began on a Saturday with a gathering at the St. Bruno hotel.

The parish priest, Father Piotr Sosnowski, welcomed guests to the celebrations. During a scientific session, Father Bruno Koniecko spoke about the message of St. Bruno of Querfurt and his role in evangelizing the region. Father Wojciech Guzewicz presented the history of the parish, noting that the community became an independent parish in 1926. He also discussed the construction of the current church on Pionierska Street, which was consecrated in 1938.

The anniversary also served to recognize local community members. Father Tadeusz Jarecki presented medals of gratitude to individuals involved in the life of the local community.
