Parishes, groups to mark Respect Life Month across Diocese

St. Mary Parish in Barnegat will host a breakfast and presentation titled "The Last Things: Living the Fourth Quarter Well: The Spiritual, the Medical, the Funeral" on October 31. The event features Dr. Charles C. Camosy, a professor of moral theology and bioethics at Catholic University of America, who will speak on facing the end of life and dying with dignity.

The program begins with an 8 a.m. Mass at St. Mary of the Pines Church in Manahawkin, followed by the breakfast and presentation in the parish center. Organizers noted that the event provides Church guidance on end-of-life realities amid cultural shifts and legislation regarding medical aid in dying, which was legalized in New Jersey in 2019.
