The Diocese of San Severo released a reflection for the feast of Saint Matthew, Apostle and Evangelist, on Monday, September 21, 2026.

In the commentary titled Parola alla Parola, Vincenzo Stilla notes that Jesus called Matthew while he was sitting at the tax collector's booth. Stilla writes that Jesus looks past the public perception of Matthew as a sinner to see him with the eyes of the heart.
