Paróquia São Francisco de Assis in Guanambi conducts mission

Paróquia São Francisco de Assis in Guanambi conducted a mission to visit families, the elderly, and the sick from September 5 to 7, 2026. The Diocese of Caetité stated the mission aligned with the Franciscan Holy Year and the Diocesan Year of the Family to strengthen the parish community's commitment to evangelization and family care.

The mission began on the evening of September 4 with a formation and sending session for missionaries. During the following days, groups visited various communities in the parish's urban area to offer prayer and support. Missionaries met with people who often cannot participate regularly in community life, using the visits to listen to parishioners and announce the Gospel.

The Irmãs Terciárias Franciscanas Regulares, the Irmãs Pequenas Filhas de São José, members of COMIPA, and other missionaries assisted with the visits and provided support to the mission teams. Parish priest Father Leandro Martins also joined the activities on September 7 to visit families and strengthen pastoral presence.
