Parishes in São José Region celebrate St. Francis of Assisi

Parishes and communities in the São José Episcopal Region of the Archdiocese of Fortaleza are holding novenas, masses, and processions to honor St. Francis of Assisi. These celebrations take place in the Jacarecanga, Centro, and Serviluz neighborhoods.

The festivities coincide with the Church marking 800 years since the saint's death. According to the Archdiocese of Fortaleza, the special programming serves to honor the saint through local devotion.
