Parrocchia San Matteo Terni – festa del patrono presieduta da don Matteo Antonelli amministratore diocesano

Don Matteo Antonelli, the diocesan administrator, presided over a solemn Mass to celebrate the patronal feast of St. Matthew the Apostle and Evangelist at the San Matteo parish in Campitello on Monday, September 21. The community celebration included parishioners from the Terni4 vicariate and several priests, including the current pastor Luca Andreani, former pastors Francesco De Santis and Gianni Sabatini, Mario Lendini, and Sergio Vandini. Father Vasile Andreca, who serves at the old church in Campitello, also attended.

During the Mass, Don Matteo Antonelli described Matthew as an evangelist who uses his writing and life to announce the Gospel and bring the message of God's kingdom to those in need. He noted that Matthew's life demonstrates how the Gospel can reach those who feel excluded and how his home serves as a symbol of the Church as a community of people in need of God's mercy.

Following the liturgy, Father Luca presented Don Matteo with an icon of St. Matthew. The gift served as a gesture of thanks and a remembrance of the years the diocesan administrator spent growing and training within the Campitello parish.
