Diocese of Lages Pastoral Carcerária visits Curitibanos Prison

The Diocese of Lages prison ministry visited the Curitibanos Prison on September 25 to strengthen its mission of supporting people deprived of liberty. The visit served as one of the first activities in a new period of growth for the ministry, focusing on presence, listening, and welcoming those in prison.

Bishop Gilson Meurer attended the visit to encourage ministry leaders and support ongoing work within prison units. Also present were Sister Iandra, who coordinates social ministries, and Maria Dilva, the diocesan coordinator for the prison ministry. Dilva also recently took on the role of coordinator for the prison ministry in the CNBB Regional South 4.
