Azerbaijani state media and government-controlled outlets have expanded their criticism of Armenia to include the government of Nikol Pashinyan. According to Vik van Brantegem for Korazym.org, the state news agency Azertac and other regime-controlled publications now claim that Armenian authorities are secretly directing protest campaigns against Baku and are not truly prepared for peace.

This shift follows controversy surrounding a visit organized by Azerbaijani authorities for approximately 150 diplomats to the occupied Artsakh region. During the visit, Azerbaijani officials presented the Gandzasar and Dadivank monuments as part of "Caucasian Albania" and displayed blank pages in museum reproductions. While Azerbaijani propaganda previously distinguished Pashinyan from his political opponents by suggesting he was willing to meet their conditions, the media now characterizes his cautious responses regarding the Armenian origins of Gandzasar as evidence of hostility.
