Peregrinación desde Malta a Navarrés para venerar las reliquias del beato Vicente Sicluna

A group of faithful from Ghaxaq, Malta, will travel to Navarrés and Valencia from September 21 to 26 to venerate the relics of Blessed Vicente Sicluna Hernández. The pilgrimage marks the 25th anniversary of the beatification of the Valencian martyrs from the religious persecution of 1936.

Blessed Sicluna served as the parish priest of Navarrés until his martyrdom on September 22. Although born in Valencia in 1859, he has Maltese ancestry through his paternal grandfather, Lorenzo Félix Scicluna Fenech, who emigrated from Ghaxaq to Spain in 1775.

The pilgrims will begin their journey on Monday afternoon with a Mass at the Cathedral of Valencia. On Tuesday, September 22, they will travel to Navarrés to be accompanied by the relatives of the blessed and local authorities. Following a morning reception at the town hall, a Mass will be celebrated in the afternoon.
