Pilgrimage of dignity, the news, and head-to-head combat

Pope Leo XIV concluded a pilgrimage to France where he met with abuse victims and people living with disabilities. During his visit, the pope spoke against euthanasia, stating that life involves more than avoiding suffering and that euthanasia does not constitute compassion.

While in Lourdes, the pope participated in a candlelight vigil procession among sick and suffering people. During his travels on Saturday, he stopped on the Champs-Elysees to bless Marie-Garance Noel, a child with profound disabilities. The pope held the child and traced the sign of the cross on her forehead.
