Pisa, quasi 48 mila visitatori la sera in Piazza dei Miracoli

Nearly 47,698 people visited the Piazza dei Miracoli in Pisa during evening hours this summer, according to the Opera della Primaziale Pisana. Between June 17 and August 31, the site recorded 47,698 evening entries, averaging 628 visitors per night over 76 consecutive evenings.

The experiment allowed the Cattedrale, Torre Pendente, Battistero, Camposanto Monumentale, Museo dell’Opera del Duomo, and Museo delle Sinopie to operate as a single visiting system until 22.30. Organizers designed the extended hours to provide an alternative to midday visits during high temperatures.

The Opera della Primaziale Pisana stated that the program covered its additional costs without affecting the site's financial balance. The extended schedule also aimed to distribute visitor flows more evenly throughout the day to reduce crowding during peak hours.
