Police arrest suspect in vandalism of Radom chapels

Police arrested a 34-year-old man in Radom for vandalizing several chapels and religious monuments by throwing paint on them. Justyna Leszczyńska of the Radom police stated that officers detained the local resident at his home on Monday morning, September 28.

The damage occurred in mid-September and affected various sites, including a pillar chapel at the intersection of Kwiatkowskiego and Białej streets, and chapels on Limanowskiego, Słowackiego, Wierzbickiej, and Ofiar Firleja streets. The vandalism also included a figure on the Cathedral facade on Sienkiewicza street and a figure at the intersection of Młodzianowska and Wiejska streets.

The suspect faces 12 charges, including destroying monuments, insulting religious feelings, and hooliganism. Following his transfer to the Prokuratura Rejonowa Radom Wschód, a court ordered him to remain in custody for the next 3 months.
