Pope Felice IV dedicated a church to Santi Cosma e Damiano in 530.

The saints were martyrs who died in Palestine during the persecutions of Diocleziano in the early 4th century. Known in the East as the anargìri, they practiced medicine without asking for compensation. They are recognized as patrons of doctors and are included in both the Roman and Ambrosian canons.
