Pope Leo XIV presides over the Diocesan Assembly of Rome

Pope Leo XIV presided over the Diocesan Assembly of Rome at the Basilica of Saint John Lateran on Friday, September 18, to mark the beginning of the new pastoral year.

During his afternoon address to the assembly, the Pope announced that the diocese has approved the start of an inquiry for the canonization of Father Luigi Di Liegro. Di Liegro served as the founder and director of the Caritas in the Diocese of Rome.
