Pope Leo XIV to lead online rosary prayer for peace on October 15
Religious communities and sisters from various countries are joining together for an online rosary prayer for peace on Thursday, October 15, at 2:30 p.m. The International Union of Superiors General (UISG) organized the event to invite women religious and their communities to pray for those affected by conflict, victims of violence, and peacebuilders.
The prayer follows a request made during a visit to Lourdes on September 27, when the Pope asked the faithful to pray the rosary throughout October specifically for the end of wars and peace between conflicting peoples. The Pope also encouraged people to accompany their prayers with acts of repentance and mercy, while committing personally to dialogue and reconciliation.
Anyone can join the online prayer session. The event falls on the liturgical feast day of Saint Teresa of Avila.
