Pope Leo XIV to pray Rosary with 700-1,000 children on October 1

Pope Leo XIV will pray the Rosary with 700 to 1,000 children from schools and parishes in Rome on October 1. The group will gather in the Vatican Gardens and at the Lourdes Grotto to launch the One Million Children Praying the Rosary initiative.

Aid to the Church in Need promotes the campaign. For the first time, the initiative will run for an entire week from October 1 to October 7, ending on the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. This allows communities, families, and schools to choose a day during the week to pray for peace and unity.

According to a press release from Aid to the Church in Need, the campaign includes participants from various global locations, including indigenous communities in the Bolivian Amazon and churches in Sudan, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, and Sierra Leone. In the Bolivian Amazon, children in the Tsimané community have already started praying the Rosary in Tsimané and Spanish.
