Vatican Surgery of Pope Leo XIV

Pope Leo XIV undergoes surgery

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV underwent surgery on Tuesday to remove a lung nodule at the Policlinico Gemelli.

Don Romano De Angelis, chaplain at the Bambino Gesù pediatric hospital, said children at the facility joined in a rosary to pray for the pope. The children sent drawings to the hospital expressing wishes to see him again soon. De Angelis noted that while the pope previously asked for prayers for children with incurable illnesses, the patients are now offering their own prayers for him.
