Pope meets with 7 abuse victims (Vatican News)

Pope Leo XIV met with seven abuse victims for two hours at the bishop’s residence in Lourdes on September 27.

The Holy See Press Office stated that the Pope met each person individually and in private. During these meetings, he listened to their stories of pain and suffering, which the Press Office noted sometimes occurred with the silence or complicity of those meant to help them. The victims also shared proposals to prevent future abuse. The Pope spent time in prayer with some of the attendees.
