Prato, ha preso il via il ciclo “Francesco: Segno vivo”

The San Francesco church in Prato began a series of meetings titled "Francis: Living Sign – History, Body, and Peace: The Gospel Lived" to mark the 800th anniversary of the death of St. Francis of Assisi. The first session took place on September 17 at 9:00 p.m.

Professor Matteo Caponi delivered the opening lecture titled "Francis in History: Interpretations and Relevance of a Prophet." Caponi discussed how people during the saint's lifetime viewed him as a messenger of a new era for the Church and how biographers portrayed him as a prophet and a figure similar to Christ.

The event was introduced by Francesco Marchese, the curator of the San Francesco monument complex, and the parish priest, Monsignor Carlo Stancari.
