Prato, le celebrazioni per la festa di San Francesco

The Diocese of Prato will hold celebrations for the feast of Saint Francis from September 24 to October 4, 2026. These events mark the eighth centenary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi. The program involves the Church of Saint Francis and several other major churches in the city to engage the local community in remembering the saint's life.

The schedule includes a novena from September 24 to October 2 at the Church of Saint Francis, featuring the Eucharist, novena prayers, and an organ concert dedicated to Saint Francis. A three-day spiritual itinerary, known as the Triduo, will take place across three different churches. These meditation evenings will focus on themes such as Greccio, La Verna, and the Canticle of the Creatures.

The celebrations also include the memory of the Transito and the solemnity on October 4. All Franciscan groups within the Prato diocese are participating in the festivities to unite different Franciscan vocations and ways of life.
