Programação do Congresso Igreja Primacial do Brasil é divulgada; inscrições seguem até 30 de setembro

The Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia has released the schedule for the congress titled "Primacial Church of Brazil: History, Culture, and Mission in 475 Years." The event will take place from November 4 to 6, 2026, at the Cardinal Dom Geraldo Majella Agnelo Auditorium in Salvador. Registration for the congress has been extended until September 30, 2026.

The Archdiocese is organizing the event alongside the Catholic University of Salvador and the Dom Avelar Brandão Vilela Foundation. The congress aims to connect academic research with Church reflection on the historical, cultural, and pastoral processes of the Church in Bahia. This gathering is part of the celebrations for the 475th anniversary of the creation of the Diocese of São Salvador da Bahia in 1551 and the 350th anniversary of its elevation to an archdiocese in 1676.

The program includes conferences, roundtables, plenary sessions, short courses, and academic presentations. It is intended for researchers, professors, students, priests, religious members, and pastoral workers. The event begins on November 4 with accreditation and a cultural presentation by the UCSAL choir.
