Bishop Vlado Košić celebrates 10th anniversary of church consecration in Sisak

Bishop Vlado Košić led a Mass on Thursday, October 8, 2026, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the consecration of the Church of Mary Queen of Peace in Sisak. The church belongs to the Pohoda Blažene Djevice Marije parish.

Bishop Košić noted that the new building was necessary because the previous parish church was located in Viktorovci within a cemetery, which was less suitable for pastoral life and community gatherings. He also reflected on the history of the church, noting that construction began in 2008 through the efforts of former parish priest Branko Koretić and local parishioners.

The anniversary Mass included parish priest Ivan Faletar, Vicar General Ivica Mađer, and several priests, including former parish priests Branko Koretić and Ivan Grbešić. Sisak Mayor Domagoj Orlić and various public officials also attended the celebration.
