A Protestant march through a Catholic nationalist neighborhood in Portadown, Northern Ireland, has increased tensions between nationalist and unionist communities.

The Portadown District Loyal Orange Lodge No. 1 march took place on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, following clearance granted during a late-night hearing. This event marked the first parade of its kind in nearly 30 years. Protesters blocked the Garvaghy Road ahead of the procession.
