Diocese of Urgell celebrates Feast of Guardian Angels

The Diocese of Urgell celebrated the feast of the Holy Guardian Angels at the chapel of the old Hospital of Puigcerdà. Monsignor Josep Grau presided over the Mass, which was attended by Mayor Joan Manel Serra, members of the Sant Hospital Foundation, and healthcare professionals including doctors and nurses.

During his homily, Monsignor Grau noted that the people of Puigcerdà have traditionally invoked the Holy Guardian Angels as protectors of the population, particularly the sick and those in need. He also mentioned that the sisters who managed the hospital for 136 years viewed the angels as protectors of the patients.

The celebration included prayers for the sisters and those who served at the Hospital of Puigcerdà over the years. The chapel is currently part of the Centre d’Atenció Primària.
