PVI senior overcomes injury, regains her stride

Paul VI High School senior Grace Gutowski returned to running after recovering from stress fractures in both of her tibias. The injury was discovered following a poor performance at the New Balance Nationals in March, where she finished 218th in the 800 meters.

Gutowski underwent an emergency MRI that night, which revealed the fractures in her shin bones. She spent nearly four months resting and rehabilitating through swimming and biking. During her recovery, she focused on schoolwork and her involvement in the school's Italian Club and various music bands.
