Quem merece mais

Bishop Odilo Pedro Scherer of the Archdiocese of São Paulo addressed the concept of merit before God based on the Gospel parable of the workers hired at different hours of the day.

Writing for the Archdiocese of São Paulo, Scherer noted that the workers who labored longer hours complained when they received the same pay as those who worked only a short time. He observed that while human logic dictates that those who work more should receive more, the parable challenges this perspective.
