The United Nations approved a motion on September 4 to gradually replace traditional world maps with a more objective representation of the globe.

The motion, which was presented by Togo, passed with a large majority. The project is known as Equal Earth and seeks to move away from the standard map formats used until now in favor of a more balanced view of the Earth.
