Questions of Faith: Can I receive Communion even if I didn’t attend the whole Mass?

A Catholic working at a funeral home may still receive Communion even if they cannot stay for the entire Mass, according to a report by Jenna Marie Cooper for The Irish Catholic.

The questioner noted that their work assisting with funeral arrangements sometimes requires them to be out of the church during the Gospel, the homily, or after Communion. Because these absences prevent them from fulfilling a full Sunday obligation, they asked if receiving the Eucharist remains permissible.
