Antonietta Raco, the woman credited with the 72nd recognized miracle in Lourdes, will meet the Pope during his visit to the sanctuary this weekend. Raco, an Italian woman, was cured of primary lateral sclerosis, a condition that caused her severe headaches, cramps, weakness, and walking difficulties starting in 2004.

During a UNITALSI pilgrimage in 2009, Raco experienced an unusual sense of well-being while in the sanctuary pools and heard a voice telling her not to fear. She subsequently regained the ability to walk after being in a wheelchair. Although she initially kept the healing private, she eventually informed the then Bishop of Tursi-Lagonegro, Francescantonio Nolè.

The Comité Médico Internacional de Lourdes voted in November 2024 that Raco's recovery from primary lateral sclerosis was unexpected, complete, lasting, and unexplained by medical knowledge. This decision followed 15 years of observation after her initial recovery. Raco shared her experience with the Oficina de las Constataciones Médicas de Lourdes after her conversation with the bishop.
