Record attendance at 2026 Priest Convocation

More than 190 priests from the Diocese of Phoenix gathered in Flagstaff this week for the 2026 Priest Convocation. The four day event, which began Monday and concludes Thursday afternoon, Sept. 24, focuses on prayer, fellowship, and formation.

The convocation theme, "Our Priestly Encounter with the Sacraments," aligns with listening sessions the diocese is conducting on the sacraments this year. These sessions are part of TILMA, a seven year pastoral plan for evangelization established by Bishop Dolan. Auxiliary Bishop Peter Dui Bui, who serves as the Vicar for Clergy, said the theme brings priests into the conversation regarding the responsibility of administering sacraments.

The agenda includes morning and evening prayer, Mass, Eucharistic adoration, small groups, guest speakers, and communal meals. The gathering also featured a Jubilarian Dinner to celebrate priests reaching milestones in their years of service.
