Redução das vocações impele a renovar vida e compromisso, diz Papa

Pope Leo XIV told members of the Federação das Monjas Clarissas Capuchinhas da Itália on Monday, September 21, that declining numbers of vocations should encourage religious communities to renew their lives and commitments.

During an audience with the federation, the Pope noted that a reduction in the number of vocations might cause some people to seek isolation or become closed off. He said that fewer members in communities and the fear of losing autonomy should not destroy hope. Instead, these challenges should drive a renewal of life and commitment.

The Pope also spoke about the federation's work to revise and update its Constitutions. He linked their mission to the charism of Santa Clara and São Francisco, which emphasizes contemplative prayer, poverty, and following the Gospel.
