Relics featured at October CBN meeting
Fred Durso shared a piece of the cross of Saint Peter the Apostle with attendees during the October Catholic Business Network of South Jersey meeting at Saint Padre Pio Parish in Vineland.
Durso, a field agent with Knights of Columbus Insurance, explained that he received 1,000 religious relics in 1999 after a client's wife offered them to him following her husband's death. He donated most of the collection to Catholic churches in the region and the Knights of Columbus international headquarters in New Haven, but kept several items, including the relic of the apostle's cross. Durso stated that he felt directed by God to bring the relics to the Church to prevent them from being lost.
Millville Savings Bank sponsored the meeting, which took place on Oct. 16.
