Religionslehrertag mit Bischof Wolfgang Ipolt am 17. September 2026 in Görlitz

Bishop Wolfgang Ipolt met with Catholic religion teachers from state and private schools in the Diocese of Görlitz on September 17, 2026. The gathering in Görlitz included a theological lecture and a discussion regarding the first encyclical of Pope Leo XIV, titled Magnifica humanitas.

During a Mass celebrated by Bishop Ipolt, Mieczyslaw Landowski received his missio canonica. Landowski belongs to the Heiliger Wenzel parish in Görlitz and teaches at the Lessing-Gymnasium in Hoyerswerda. The missio canonica is the official Church mandate and support that authorizes religion teachers to provide Catholic instruction within the school system.

The day concluded with a shared meal and a blessing from the bishop.
