Resignations and Appointments

Pope Francis has appointed Reverend Serhii Kippa, O.F.M. Cap., as the auxiliary bishop of the diocese of Kyiv-Zhytomyr in Ukraine. The Holy See Press Office stated that Kippa will also hold the titular see of Marazane.

Kippa previously served as the superior of the Custody of the Capuchin Friars Minor of Ukraine, a position he was re-elected to in 2025. Born in Voznesensk in 1978, he joined the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin and made his perpetual vows in 2009.

His previous roles include serving as a master of novices, a guardian for the Capuchin community in Starokonstantyniv, and a parish priest in Kyiv. He holds a master’s degree in theology from the Seminary of the Capuchin Friars Minor in Kraków, Poland.
