Roma abre una nueva fase en la intervención del IVE: «relectura del carisma» y revisión de su espiritualidad, formación y apostolado

Rome has launched a new phase of intervention for the Instituto del Verbo Encarnado (IVE) and the Servidoras del Señor y de la Virgen de Matará (SSVM). This process will involve a re-reading of the charism and a review, renewal, and purification of the spirituality, formation, and apostolate of both religious families.

The stage follows decisions from two special criminal tribunals of the Holy See. In both the first instance and on appeal, the courts found the founder of both institutes, Father Carlos Miguel Buela, guilty of a crime against the sixth commandment committed with violence against several people.

Pontifical delegates José Antonio Satué for the IVE and Clara Echarte for the SSVM, along with Simona Brambilla, prefect of the Dicasterio para los Institutos de Vida Consagrada y las Sociedades de Vida Apostólica, communicated these developments to the superiors of the institutes. The delegates met in Rome with provincial superiors from both branches of the religious family to discuss the tribunal rulings and the next steps.
