Polish priest injured in attack forgives aggressor and appeals for love

Father Adrian Mantykiewicz forgave the person who attacked him and his colleagues during a knife attack in Poland. During a Mass on September 26, Mantykiewicz, who suffered a head wound and visible injuries, stated that he forgave the aggressor on behalf of himself and the two other injured priests.

The attack left Father Stanisław Zbojnowicz dead from his injuries. Father Marek Pienkowski remains hospitalized in serious condition, while Mantykiewicz has been released from medical care.

Mantykiewicz asked the community to pray for the conversion of the attacker, noting that the individual needs prayer more than anyone else. He also requested prayers for the eternal rest of Father Zbojnowicz, the recovery of Father Pienkowski, and his own healing so he can return to his ministry.
