San José de Cupertino

The Archdiocese of Morelia shared a reflection on the life of Saint Joseph of Cupertino on September 18.

Known popularly as the saint of flights, Joseph of Cupertino was born in 1603 in Copertino, Italy. He was born into a very poor family struggling with debt. His early life was marked by significant hardship, including the death of his father before his birth and a strict upbringing from his mother due to their economic difficulties. He is recognized for documented episodes of levitation that occurred when he entered deep mystical ecstasy.
