Santuário Perpétuo Socorro promove experiências de inclusão que fortalecem a vida em comunidade

The Santuário Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro in Curitiba is implementing various pastoral programs to include people with disabilities in community life. These efforts coincide with the Dia Nacional de Luta da Pessoa com Deficiência on September 21.

Autistic individuals participate in catechesis and the Pastoral dos Coroinhas e Acólitos. The sanctuary also hosts celebrations and meetings for atypical families. To support the deaf community, the sanctuary includes them in celebrations and offers training in Libras. Additionally, the Pastoral da Acolhida is preparing to welcome an autistic teenager as a member.

Redemptorist missionary Padre Joaquim Parron stated that the sanctuary seeks to be a house of welcome where every person can find their space and live their faith in community. He noted that this mission includes welcoming people with disabilities and their families.
